New Avon Cobra tires are JUNK-TRASH-CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Three of us just bought new 300mm Cobras to replace the original Venoms. Me in Arizona and the two others in Michigan.

The original Venoms tires got 5,500+ miles on them and the new Cobra tires are gone in under 2000 miles to the wear bars. The tires were laser aligned when installed and done by a trusted mechanic. No burnouts! just normal riding.

We are looking for a better replacement that won't rub the drive belt. Anyone know of another BRAND better wearing tire that will fit on the Bigdogs?

Contacted Avon Customer Service and got stupid excuses and a big SORRY can't help you, maybe you can contact England. WTF!!!!!!

We will be traveling different MC shows and meets taking their junk new tires with a banner showing the crap AVON quality and zero customer service.

Let em know if you're having the same results.

I have 7500 miles on my Avon cobra rear tire. I got 10k out of the Avon Venom rear.
I'm not at the wear mark yet. What shop did the laser alignment?

I don't like the fact I have dry cracking on my Cobra front tire at the 2 year mark
My Venom front tire was only on 1 year so I don't know if it would have cracked

AIH swank is running metzler tires and he is getting more miles out of his than I am with the Avon

Shinkos doing good for me so far. Im only running a 250 tho. Good value for sure.
I‘ll be trying out the Shinkos when the time comes to replace the 300mm rear on the K9. I will most likely get the tire from Cycle Gear too as they have a policy that if you get a flat due to a puncture, they will replace the tire for free up to a certain amount of wear. Beyond that they prorate it.
And, they will mount the tire onto the rim for $25. Otherwise, it’s $50 if you don’t buy the tire from them.
Of course you need to remove the wheel from the bike and take it to them, but I don’t recall that being too difficult on the Big Dogs.
