Oh sure now you show me lol I ordered the other one already. I’m sure there is enough clearance. But I may end up chasing down a screw that’s long enough. Thanks for all your help.
Call Donna in the morning to change your order...Hman sent you the right one and thats the correct one

When I got this bike a couple weeks ago, this speedometer didn’t work. And it’s 20 years old well 19 lol so I bought a new Dakota digital speedometer and a sensor. The speedometer came first so I put it on and it still doesn’t work but that’s cool I’d rather have a new is there a place that the electrical wire usually breaks That I’ve overlooked? I haven’t looked under the tank just because I’m hoping the sensor will cure it

OK I just put my new Dakota digital speedometer in my 2004 chopper .yes I have directions. But I’ve seen people on here that say it was plug and play and it just goes and others that say you have to calibrate it ..which is it? I tried going down the street about a half a block and it didn’t register anything, so am I doing something wrong or maybe my speed sensor bad
Just bored and looking for something to do

I need to catch a break lol put my new spirometer on that didn’t work. No big deal so I ordered the sensor went down to put it on today and someone has stripped out the Allen head. Dammit. I have an Allen head extractor kit but my son-in-law has it. Dammit again I’ll get it in this weekend one way or another.

Come on all you big dog wiring guys if I have put a Dakota digital speedo and a new sensor .. and my speedo still doesn’t work and yes the volts are good .. we’re is a obvious place for a bad wire that Ive over looked ????the guy I got it from just put a new ecm on it .. it looks OK to me. Could it possibly needed to be flashed or something? I am a long ways from being a wiring guy

If you havent checked under the tank, I would suggest you try looking there. Wires rubbing on the underside of the tank will cause ya headaches. They can often go overlooked.

Thanks I did that but I’ll do it again to make sure

clear 2004 wiring Dia..jpg

The Speedo circuit is only 12 vdc to each unit and a green wire from the sensor to the speedo. The EHC does not control it.

Check for 12 volts between the red and black wires at both the sensor and speedo first. If you have it at both, then the green wire between them may be broke? Sounds like you got a couple of speedo as parts when you bought the bike. I would check that green wire.
