02 Prosport drain plug

Up here in the northwest the riding season pretty much has started or damn near. I need to drain the oil on the 02 pro sport(never done prior) > I snapped a pic today when I was looking under it from the right side, and not sure which one is oil. I circled with different colors to better help identify. Your feedback is appreciated

Underneath the blue circle, you see the hose with the plug in the end. That is your drain hose. Make sure the bike is ridden first, and the iol is warmed up.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but the green circle looks like your transmission drain.

Thanks for confirming that. Draining it won't be too bad then since the hose is better accessible.

Few more questions. When adding oil, I read on some old thread with another 02 pro sport on here mentioning about the weld on the oil tank should be the marker being 1 1/2 inches below roughly. Would that being recommended in my case as well? Also, when I started the bike after letting it sit for winter, oil came out of the drain hose. I am thinking that something do to pressure?

The bike will hold 3 qts. Oil coming out the vent tube after it has set for a long time is normal. What happens is, the oil draining into the engine, ( called sumping), can't be pumped back to the tank fast enough, and the pressure from the pistons pushes out the vent. If you start it at least once a month during winter, this will help with that.
