Will do. Thanks!1/4 turn off is correct. Ck your shift linkage. The hiem joints can get dry n stick. Check the bolt on the transmission shift arm too. If its loose, shifting will be a bitch.

Whoa whoa whoa, what nut did you loosen? post a picture. So, I adjusted the push rod like you said and got the cable to where there was about 1/8” free play and it felt great. Now, once I start it and try to put it into gear, I can’t get it into first…I can pull up and get it into second, but it wouldn’t find first gear. I must have done something wrong. Can you help on that? Was I supposed to tighten it 1/8-1/4 more, or loosen? I backed it off about 1/4 turn.

Clutch rod nut. I’ll send you one once I get back to the house. It was on the right side. I unscrewed that cap and there was a 9/16” nut with an Allen screw.Whoa whoa whoa, what nut did you loosen? post a picture.
Just making sure you didn't touch the one on the left next to the shift rod. That one is a no no.Clutch rod nut. I’ll send you one once I get back to the house. It was on the right side. I unscrewed that cap and there was a 9/16” nut with an Allen screw.
