Bike went haywire!

Afternoon everyone. My name is Jason, I live in Joplin, MO and am the proud owner of 2007 Mastiff. About a month ago I took my bike to the shop to get the tires changed. Riding it back home, about 4 miles from the shop, I made a right hand turn. As I started to accelerate the bike started cutting out like it was running out of gas (which I knew it wasn’t, because I reset the tripmeter after every fill up). The gauges all starting blinking and going crazy, the horn started honking and it died right there. I tried to restart, it would turn over but not fire, then the gauges went off and nothing. Found that the main battery ground cable the connects to the starter broke off. Got a new connector, now the gauges light up and the bike turns over but doesn’t fire. Also the headlight and signal lights don’t come on. I saw that my circuit breaker reset was tripped and I couldn’t get it to reset, so bought a new one. Installed it today and it still won’t fire. Is it possible it fried the EHC? Im including a couple picks. Hopefully someone can help me out. Sometimes electrical gets overwhelming for me because I’m not sure where to start. Thanks for any info that can be shared.

Just a simple check before you get started on the big stuff. Sounds like you only rode it a couple miles, which is about the same distance you might get if somebody turned off your fuel petcock. Take a look-see.

Welcome from Southwestern Virginia! Does the engine turn over when trying to start? Start simple, check battery (load test). Big Dogs are prone to go through batteries an a couple of years.

Again sorry I didn’t post enough info. Was trying to not to make post too long. I’ve replaced the battery even though it wasn’t bad, but because it was four years old and figured it was due to go down anytime.

That's the wires plus module by your pictures it's not the original. If switches stopped working, sounds like the short might have put an end to the wires plus. There's two modules to that one is black potted the other has some relays on it you can see sticking out.

Take a close look at both boxes, usually when the wires plus modules go South you can actually see it, it will burn holes or have some black burn look on it.

Look at that solid black box in your second picture bottom right, looks like it burned holes in it. Picture are not very clear. But have a look.

That's the power module, looks like it got a little crispy.

I would recommend you remove the wire plus system and replace with one of the modern set ups. The wire plus modules are absolute garbage, and massacre the wiring.

I agree with Jwooky, let's get your wiring back to good working order so you don't have to worry about it anymore. I am the closest Big Dog shop to you, if you're interested.

Welcome from Florida Jason! Yeah sure looks like your wires plus is tits up. Shannon should be able to fix that for you no problem. Keep us posted on your situation.

Your bike has a defective OEM charging system if someone hasn't already changed it.
That is why the Wire Plus was put in it.
Get a quality CompUFire system and you will likely have to replace the WirePlus system with a different setup.
