Bad squeal in 04 Chopper Primary??

Did you ever figure it out and what you did to fix it?

The 03 and 04 models are known for this problem. As the rear pulley wears out, you'll get a chirp or squeal from the belt. Post a picture of the teeth on your rear pulley, so we can see how bad it is. Eric at HDM has new pulleys in stock.

Ive had both... one rattled, one hada crazy sewing machine squeel/squeak.

New pulley fixed my issue.

I had the same issue with the rear pulley.
Sent the pulley to SuperMax Products for an overlay.
Great solution since the pulley was custom matched to the wheel and replacements were not to be found.

I originally did the same. Ending up ripping their teeth off having fun. Bought the new one from BDM and it worked great. New one was cheaper than SuperMax. SuperMax did offer to fix it, but I never sent it back. Photos of SuperMax pulley after failure

Did you ever figure it out and what you did to fix it?

My rear pulley was making a funny chirping sound to. Jacked up the bike on the floor lift and wiped the belt down really good with warm water & a rag. Went over it like 4 times. Rear pulley too. Took it for a test ride and it hasn’t done it since.

Well ordered a replacement pulley and changed it this weekend and the noise is gone!! Didn’t think the original looked that bad but guess it’s all over now and noise is gone!
