You got 5 Bolts on both sides of the hubs (10 Total), your wheel is threaded. Another good reason to change your rear bearings every tire change the bolts are RED loctited but you should be able to get them out without too much of a hassle. Maybe the PO never changed them!

Easiest way to do it is take both hubs off then take the bearings out with a press and then press in new bearings.
Thanks Eric - I’m afraid of heating the hubs - not sure how much heat without damaging anything. I’m sure it’s the original tire I’m trying to get changed- I’ve got a really strong impact but having to use an extension to reach those DAM bolts takes the “impact” out of it
I thought I’d skip the bearing step but they feel like they have gravels in them
Sorry for high jacking Shannon
Thanks for your help

Hey Dave! Definitely change the bearings. I just helped a friend with his and the outside bearings were ok but the center bearing was shot out. Definitely worth the time.

Get a PIT POSSE wheel bearing removal kit off of ebay for around 100.00....you wont have to remove the hubs to change wheel bearing unless you just want to take them off...there is videos on youtube to help you learn to operate the puller and installation tools with this kit....View attachment 97169
Thanks buddy - I knew there had to be SOMETHING to keep me from destroying my wheel - I’ll get one on the way
Thanks Thanks Thanks !!

Can you use heat on wheel or hub or does that damage them ?

Well that goes along with what I did today. Cut the heads off the last two bolts, to get my hub apart.

Removed the brake rotor, and assembled it all again. Lined everything up and belt is in line, and won't touch the tire. Now I have to trim the rotor width off the hub and make new bearing spacers.

Ok, I'm in bit of a quandary. I was going to work on the front brake caliper mount, and had to put the tire on to make sure I had it centered, and decided to set it down on its Wheels to see how it's sat. I have it mocked up with stock Pitbull struts. I was figuring I would have to go with a two over tube because of the rake difference and tire size difference. But as you can see it is sitting perfect.

The Titan front end is the same length as this one. The reason I didn't use it in the first place, is that it has 43 mm tubes, instead of the 41mm. And I thought I was going to have to change out the tubes for longer tubes.
So now do I pull the Titan triple trees off and see if it'll work in the Mastiff frame, or go through all the trouble of making a bracket for the brake caliper. Which will take me all day long.

I do like the exotic look of the Titan front end. And and it will be titled as a Titan, and it'll save me a lot of work if the parts will fit in the neck. What do you all think?

I like the upside down look - loved them on my Bulldog - looks and feels stronger too

First thing you do is measure the trail. Just because it visually sits "ok" doesn't guarantee the optimum trail.

If there's a choice, use the Titan front end -- inverted forks are overall stronger and it'll save you a bunch of work.

I imagine the Titan tree's will fit the only issue would be the fork stop setup and if it will work on the RT frame. I suspect they used a 1" neck so same bearings, etc.

Just something else to consider....the issue with the 43mm inverted is, if you ever need parts (seals/bushings) that is an odd ball size. Nobody is really making inverted front ends like that anymore GCB, Mean Street, etc all have been out of business for a long while. DNA has a 68mm setup they call it. I imagine that is the overall thickness of the front end not the tube size, it doesn't say what size tubes they are using and I can't find any replacement parts either. Harley had a 46mm inverted back in the 2000's for a while they discontinued them along with all the parts, Ultima discontinued there's many years ago. You might have a hard time finding seals, bushings or tubes if you need to replace them. Do a search on google, I can't find any replacement stuff.

Yeah, that's the first thing I did. Lots of 43 mm seals out there.
And the tree stop is just a tab on the front of the neck.

I saw them for dirt bikes and metrics....may or may not fit.

Like these...maybe you can get lucky just check first. These are for 80's & early 90's dirtbikes.
