I’m sure it’s on here somewhere. Just got on 04 Ridgeback and it dies when it gets warmed up, but not every time. Getting plenty of fuel. When it cools down, fires right back. Pulled the plugs yesterday when it died and no fire. Hoping it’s the coil and not needing EHC replaced with rip kit. Anything else to try ?

Also after you install your new cam sensor take your front heat shield off of your exhaust pipe and put on layer of exhaust wrap on it and put your shield back on....it will help keep the heat off the nose cone so hopefully it doesnt take out the sensor again....heat is its worse enemy

I'm not sure but I don't see what having power after the failure has to do with it. If the bike had no power at all when it dies I wouldn't be looking at the coil or the cam sensor. I'd be looking for a bad ground. If the cam sensor heats up and fails to send the signal the ignition won't trigger the coil. It could be the coil but as Knothead pointed out it's less likely. Intermittent is a crap shoot anyway and both parts aren't returnable. Wildsteedworx.com is another good source for Big Dog parts and info.

I want to aplogize for jumping the gun....i should have asked if you still had power to everything etc before saying anything about the cam sensor....i should have asked while the bike was still hot and you tried to crank it over if the ignition module red light was flashing.....if its flashing while trying to crank it that means the cam sensor is good and is sending signal to the ignition module then on to the next step why it isnt firing...
