I got my screen back and its really nice. Its thicker, taller, tinted and a little wider. I took it for a little ride and its pretty nice with the flip on the top.
That looks Awesome Ernie, how can I get one of those?

How did they compensate for the difference in thickness between the factiry and theirs? Im trying to figure out how the front and rear fairing come together being that thick. Looks good but i would want a lot darker tint, like non see thru in either direction.

I am not sure but all he said was it should be a little thicker since its going to be a larger screen. The new one is 3/16 and I think the old one is 1/4 inch. So I figured the original bolts would still fit which they do and it seems solid but I did order 4 bolts a little longer online just in case and still waiting for those.

I should also mention that he suggested that I drill my own holes when I got it and I agreed. They include the special drill bit and a piece of plastic to practice on. They have a video on their website about how to drill it and it worked great. I did have to go to Harbor Freight and buy two spring clamps that had a 4 inch throat depth to hold the screen on the fairing while I marked the holes.

Isnt a 1/4 inch thicker than 3/16 of an inch??? And i understand the extra lengrh needed if the windshield is thicker than the stock ones. But the inner fairing is made to fit inside the outter based on the thickness of the windshield. It its thicker how does the inner match to the otter fairing?)

haha Sorry about that I meant to put original is 1/8. I dont understand what you mean about the inner fairing. The shield just sits on the outside of the fairing then the metal strip is on top of the shield. The shield does not fit inbetween the inner and outer fairing like Harleys.

My bad i meant the metal strip and outter fairing how does the thickness affect that, then with the longer screws does that not effect the way the fairings are held together

Well I have not tried the longer screws yet but if they fit flush on the inner fairing all should be good but if they are to long it would not look good. I dont know what they call the nuts the the screws bolt into (well nuts maybe) . I dont think the thickness effects the looks where the metal and screen fit together on the fairing.

Does the flip help more with the air not hitting you?

Hey guys that ordered one of these thicker screens you are probably going to want longer screws. I just put in chrome button head 10-24 5/8 and they fit much better than the original ones. I could not find anything local so I had to order online. Just a heads up.
