I’m not saying this is what it is BUT : mine did the exact same thing. No lights no nothing.i replaced EHC with axels unit from wild steed worx... no more problems. But before you spend $550 + $105 ehc+Voltage regulator. Try cleaning crank sensor and the sensor on your tranny. It didn’t help mine but that was recommended as well as replacing head light plastic plug for a ceramic one. Didn’t help. But at least it won’t melt now. EHC fixed all mine. As Sven said 2003-2020= 17 years of ?????good luck. Curtis is pretty damn tech savvy give him a call at 619-823-8557 leave a brief message and he will call you back.
Same issue here. No problems after changing out the EHC.

None. Running great. The part I like about axels ehc is it very easy to program. I programmed mine so when I turn the key wait a couple seconds for Speedo to do its thing, the hit start. I bypassed the run/stop button. So it’s no so many steps to start the bike. I figured it will save my internal buttons not pushing them so much. When I’m ready to shut the bike off, I just put it in neutral and turn key. No buttons to push. I also like the brake light flashes 3 times before it goes solid ( kinda gets the attention of the guy who is on his cell phone), trying to get a picture of you . Lol

And you just unplug it. Take your covers off, take two nuts off. And put it back. I did have to drill a hole in my battery box axels unit was smaller between the two bolts. No problem though. Put it all back together. put the negative side of battery last. Turned gas on and fired up in less than a second.

Hi Bruce
You said you cleaned the crank sensor and did a ohm test that's good. It might be heat changing the ohms when it's hot. You could buy another one and try that first. If that doesn't fix it you would have a spare for later. Might be worth trying before spending a lot more on the EHC. Just took a closer look at your picture I Know that place. The Union Hotel down at the river.

I haven't been to the Union Hotel and Restaraunt in years -- Great place.

I’m buying a crank sensor and it’s going in my tool pouch just because I’m reading more and more about bikes running fine then just shutting off when it’s gets hot.

Hit Jumbo Jimmy's Crab shack too back in the day! Now I'm in SC instead of NJ so it's a little more off the beaten path for me now!

So in conclusion for my stalling problem, the bike finally acted up really bad with lights and gauges flashing starter trying to engage with the key turned on but no buttons or anything being pushed after about 10 minutes of sitting I turn the key on and everything was fine again so I order a EHC from big dog. If by chance this doesn't fix it but I'm pretty sure it will I will repost so people will know exactly what the problem was in case they're having the same thing happen

You might look into a Wild steed worx EHC. Axel makes a unit that is truly a un plug and plug. No harness to swap out. Plus it’s programmable and blue tooth to check bolts on battery I like it and was very easy to program.

So I ended up purchasing big dogs new EHC. It arrived a couple days ago I installed it today and everything ran fine I rode the bike over the same area that I've been riding it where it would act up after warmed up and today no acting up no stalling pretty sure it's fixed will need to ride a little more to be a hundred percent sure. It was pretty easy to install I purchased the one where you get the EHC and you use your backbone harness and hooks into it I will say it's pretty hard to find someplace to stuff all the wiring after it's installed if I had it to do again I would have spent the extra $15 and gotten the single harness, which I feel would have made a nicer install. I purchased this one because it was recommended buy big dog but like I said after the install I wish I would have went with my gut the other one is apparently a fair amount harder to install I think that's why they recommend this one if your wiring appears to be okay.
