Thats a serious day ride on a K9, congrats on that ride very impressive. Grew up in NJ but have lived in Charlotte/Mooresville NC since 1984. I see you live in Murrells inlet Myrtle beach now, was at bike week last year May 7 thru the 11th, and only came upon 2 bigdogs a bagger, and another 2007 bulldog like mine. Not sure if its better to go later in the week but work schedule worked out for our dates. Its cancelled this year but if I can get the bike running which I will, I will look you up for the fall rally late Sept. I believe you have tried to help with some of my problems so a beer or two is atleast I can do. Thanks again.

Well as of now they are planning on doing Bike week in MB in July is the latest current info.
My first yr with a bike (bought in feb03) I drove on a different chopper straight thru to MB with some friends -- about 650 that year.
Coming home, 1 bike had trouble staying running, I had no rear brake. I lost the crew getting on 95.
Realized it was going to get cold so I called the truck that was following us. Somehow because of the bike troubles I had passed them. Got my chaps. Never saw the truck again as they raced to catch the problem bike.
Eventually reaching NJ, I'm coming down the turnpike at 2AM or so and I see this ONE headlight coming at me like a bat out of hell.
It's the other guy that was riding with us. He left the trouble bike/rider back in MD and was trying to get home (he was further north than the rest of us)
The truck ultimately had to leave the rider cause they HAD to get their daughter. Told him they'd come back if he called and needed.
Turned out as soon as the guy backed off and stopped trying to stay with the guy that caught me, the bike settled down adn rode fine. Turned out if I recall it was bad wire that bounced and shorted at high speed - 60 it was OK, 70 problem but not instantly.
That was the year I learned how cold it gets coming North in early Oct.
Next year we rode all the way back since no one wanted to be that guy that said let's stop -- I had popped the back so I was in the truck and the bike was on trailer so it wasn't going to be me.
Afterwards, when we talked we all swore never again to do a one day with a group like that -- I've done it solo since but AI make WAY better time then when theres 5 or 6 guys and 3 or 4 women. End up trying to herd cats with a group.
