It's two different clutch cable systems. What Mark showed you with them easy pull parts, we're going to go over on how to put them in and get it adjusted properly with a 12 disc clutch
That would be awesome. I been reading it’s a 9 disk conversion and they usually slip

Half a turn back from touching on rod sounds a lot.. that may be one reason for hard to find neutral . May!
You sure your cable is in good order?

When I changed it I think they had too much about a full turn too much so it’s always been hard to put in neutral and before you couldn’t start it while it was in gear, It would lunge forward just a tad if you try to start it in gear with the clutch pulled.

Couple Things...

I’m sorry guys I don’t why I keep confusing it with a 2005. It’s a 2003, I do it all the time.:oldbang:
I was wondering why you said the ball & Ramp was in oil. haha that explains it!

I did have the fluids changed and they put syn3 in all three locations. That was two days ago.
Synthetic in the primary is a problem and it will cause the clutch plates to stick...your going to have to drain it and maybe take apart the basket and soak the fibers in some regular primary non-synthetic oil for a little while. Hopefully that will do the trick and you don't need to buy a new clutch pack....All the clutch's in these bikes can be ran dry the oil is only in the primary to lubricate the chain. Technically you could convert to an internal belt drive if you so choose on the 03 with the stock clutch setup. NOT AT ALL NECESSARY OR AM I SUGGESTING kinda a waste of money... just figured I would mention.

I also agree with Tapio...if you don't know when you changed your clutch cable it's probably time for new one especially if you clean up the whole clutch like I stated above. Doesn't hurt to start with a fresh cable then you'll be good for another 10k+ miles

Yes I asked about the synthetic in there. I said to them, I read not to use causes clutch to stick. They said it was a myth and they do it all the time.
