Hey folks,
Need some help. I have a 2004 Pitbull and need to align rear wheel but can't find a wrench or socket that will fit in the recess where the rear axle nut is located. Does it take a special tool. All my sockets are too thick to fit into recess and over nut....Thanks

Are you using impact sockets?

Ok guys, I have a 2006 Service Manual and I cannot find one word that states how to adjust the final drive belt. I replaced my tires this spring and I don't think that the Harley shop knew what they were doing when they reassembled my bike. I have a 06 Mastiff. I have not had this issue before, as I have changed tires a couple times since I have owned my scooter. Right now the belt has about 1.5 inches play which is way too much as It hits the belt guard on the top of the belt. So now I need to get it back to where it should be and Yes I am not going back to the Harley dealer. The mechanics were from another shop that used to be a authorized Big Dog maintenance and Dealer for Big dog. So I trusted these guys. Cannot trust them now. So my question, what page number states where to adjust the drive belt.? Starting on page 81 through page 87, it does say how to remove and install the rear wheel and then gives the torque values but not one word about drive belt tension.

Once u get it set where the belt tension is right and the wheel and belt track together right just leave it where it is....idk why shops do that shit ..it will go back without moving the axle and causing a pain in the ass and adjustment issues

Go Grab the 2008 Manual, its a better manual and describes the tension requirements and adjustment procedure in detail. The chopper isn't in the 08 manual but the procedure is the same for a K9 and Chopper

The manual is listed in @bdm7250 Dropbox right above this post

Ok Now I'm calling Donna, she will have the 2008, hopefully between the two I will have all the info that I might need. I regularly check my belt tension, and mine is was too loose. So now all I have to do is set the tension. I've decided to set it to 0.50 with out me on the bike. I think that the tension on the BDM Mastiff was about 0.375. But I only measured it from the belt guard. Want to thank all for sharing. Man I seem to learn more about my bike every time I get on the forum, and I've had it it seems for a lifetime. Love the ride...
