I think a push up seat does what it says. It will push you up closer to the controls. You can have a gel insert that will cushion the bumps. I'm sure there are other ways to make the ride more comfortable.

Question,

What is the right procedure to start the bike once key is turned on ? Now remember I am a newbie with this...
Should I press Run button and then Start ? Should I press valve release buttons on top of engine before every start ? Thought that works automatically...compression release mechanism I am talking about..
Don’t have a manual ...

I appreciate any info on this ...

The compression releases are automatic, you can check their operation by pressing a finger in the hole to feel if they open properly.

Here are the quick start steps from the owners manual:

1. Make certain that the bike is in neutral
2. turn fuel valve to open position.
3. turn ignition switch to the on position.
4. Depress the run button.
5. Prime the motor with two twists of the throttle.
6. lift up on enrichener half way. (you may not need to do this)
7. Depress start button for no more than five seconds at a time until the engine starts.
8. Keep the engine running at fast idle or 1500 RPM using the throttle.
9. Depress the enrichener back to the pre-start position when the engine reaches a constant steady speed.
10. Allow engine to warm approximately one to two minutes before riding.

Found them cheaper at 2wheel.com
thanks for the heads up...I was getting my extra tire out to take to the shop and it had a mfr date of 2011...not comfortable with it even though it looks like new (stored in box out of the sun) got one from 2wheel as you suggested for $279

Yep ! Glad it worked out !!

So my mechanic who was referred to me by not 1 but several friends and co workers told me he was going to take care of me ... how much should i expect to pay for all fluid change ( motor oil, transmission oil , primary oil , brakes fluid ,all synthetic) plus he cleaned up the carb , and now he is going to put on the new tires ...

Any guess ? I know I should have asked him this when I dropped off the bike but he wasn’t there at the time , so next day he started working on the bike right away...

Any guess ?

I think this might help others to compare prices ...

So i got the bike back yesterday afternoon, I was really excited about it, drove it for around 30 min , overall bike did great , but ...

I noticed clutch when standing in 1st gear was still pushing bike forward slightly ...

And when I got to the garage i noticed when I stopped some oil leaks under the bike , not a lot but enough to stain the driveway in a noticeable way ...

Now , called my mechanic and he said that he would grab his trailer and come pick up the bike to check it out Monday.
I was not driving back to the shop with an oil leak ...

After some reading I noticed that if you put the wrong oil filter on it which is a Twin Cam engine , this could happen ...

I will be using K&N 170 C for now seems to be the one most use ...

I don’t know what kind of filter is in the bike now ... will find out tomorrow...

And also if you put Synthetic oil in the Primary clutch will start to slip and act up ....

There was no noticeable leaks on the bike before ( since I bought it a week ago ) and clutch was working fine ...

Could this be the reason for this leak and clutch situation, both unrelated things I guess ...

Any ideas or comments will be greatly appreciated,

And again , thanks in advance for all the help that I have received so far from members of this very valuable forum , to us Big Dog owner’s

Cheers

I use synthetic oil and dont have any clutch issues, could just need to adjust it. Takes about 10 mins to do. As far as oil leak, could be oil leaking at the starter from primary, mine would drip a little after riding too. Just check around the starter and see if its dripping from it or not

I saw a video on YouTube I think from Curtis (WSW ) explaining that many folks have issues on the primary using synthetic so he recommended mineral oil 20/50 there ... I will show up at the shop tomorrow morning to find out more about the leak ...

I will look at the started as you mentioned...

Does it mean we have to get used to leaks here and there on this beautiful bikes ?

This is the video i saw , if you go to min 2:25 you will see he mentions “never use synthetic for the Primary “

Ohhh that is not Synthetic!! Actúally I read that Spectro is one of the most favorite primary oils

Now it makes more sense ...
