Withe the harness unplugged and the key on I only get power on pins 17 and 18 8v on 17 and 12 on 18
Sorry Nascar was on. 12 volt on pin 18 is great I wouldn't worry about 8 volts on 17.
The unit I have now is going for $550 at Wild Steed Worx

Check all your ground pins Pin 19 , 22 and 35 - 48 they should read zero ohms between them. Hold the meter on one pin and go up and down the others. Then check them to battery ground. I know you have a new harness so just check to see if any wires leaving read to ground. Stock wiring all grounds went thru the EHC I believe.

Well last night she finally started and ran and I was able to take her out and ride about 10 miles to go fill it up. I shut it off and started it with no problems all night after it started once. Still no running lights, tach, or speedometer. Blinkers and brake lights work and the blinker indicator on the guage does work when I turn eitherblinker on. That’s as far as I got last night. Tool positive wires off battery and but it on trickle charge. Will look at it more today after work.

Sounds to me like you have an issue with the Annuciator cable to the speedo. MIne had shorted and melt a wire back to the connector under the tank. Id pull tank-speedo, look for voltage to each wire/device. First off backbone connector- next at speedo.

These bike are very funny when it comes to how one short (to ground) changes everything else. Usually leading you down a path of component replacement.

My suggestion is ohm it out until you find something that makes sense.

Must have power
Must have ground
Must not have short to ground.

Open circuit will lead you directly to the issue
Short to ground leaves you chasing many things

Ok so brake / turn single work. No running lights. So that has to be the hot wire output from Ehc or bad connection at main plug. If you take apart one of the connectors from the old harness, and get two females with a short wire attached. Then you could apply 12 volts to each running light to confirm they work. I believe they will. That would test all wiring. It's sounding like the Ehc. Probably not outputting for tach, speedo & running lights? Have fun.

I believe when the key is turned on the Ehc test for grounds or shorts if detected should light a fault light. Then the Ehc will not turn on that output.

Actually,

Looking at print.

I would unplug the speedo- tach ring- speed sensor from back bone
plug back in one at a time and check functions to see if any work when plugged in without the others. My bet is one of those has a short and the other 2 will work without the short pulling down the voltage.

You definitely have a short in there which is why I am guessing you are pulling positive terminal when not riding???
Its usually a short close to what isn't working.
If not remove all connector on that circuit and plug in one at a time and test until you find the sole one that doesn't work??
