Cuz - - I've replaced one, but there was no "recall" that I'm aware...
What have you heard?
No way I'm staying with the EHC. I'm going the Rainman route the next time it craps or this winter -- which ever hits first!
Big Dog did not have a recall on the 04 EHC. It is an updated version,wich uses the current EHC. They have an adapter that works with the o4 models. It cost about $500. Your 04 is out of warranty. (right). Most people who own BDM bikes think they have a lifetime warranty. But they only have a two year warranty. Unless you have an extended warranty you purchased from your dealer......[/QUOTE)
Damn dude,
Lighten up !!!!...The purpose of this forum is to share ideas and information about our scoots...Since the EHC is area of concern it really isn't out of line to hope BDM will step up and give a helping hand.
By the way...WELCOME TO THE FORUM![]()
I am the second owner of ny 2004 Pitbull, have the same issue. My bike only has 4,000 miles on it. I was thinking of writing the V.P. of Consumer Affairs at Big Dog.I was trying to get a number of people that have had their ehc replaced by BD under recall on the 2004 models.
Mine has went out and I am trying to get BD to replace it.
If I could get some help with who has gone this route please let me know.
Thx
I could not agree more!!!In some cases, BDM will replace an EHC at no cost if the bike has low mileage. But back to the point, if it were a Harley, you would have to buy the part, plus pay labor cost.. I love BDM bikes, my wolf is a one of a kind ! My friends own a Harley R-King (07). and still say my bike is much better looking than any harley on the road. I've never seen an ugly Big Dog bike. Not only do the BDM bike look awesome,but they are the best running machines out there.
I used the Thunderheart Micro Harness. Haven't had a problem since and all the damn Gremlins are gone.Rainman redid his (I can't find his thread). I think he used the Wire Plus system from;
Wire Plus
I'm done with the EHC when it dies again. Too damn iffy if it craps out in the middle of Montana. No shop but a BDM center will be able to help you out...:down:
cuz, Please tell me how you achieved this, as I am dealing with same issue on a PitbullThx for everyones reply. Much appreciated.
I myself am well aware of the 2 year warranty. I purchased another warranty on the bike on top of the factory warranty.
We are currently working with BD on replacing the EHC. This does not fall under a recall, Just a replacement. Hopefully we can have a great outcome due too so many EHC problems on record with BD.
Again thx everyone.
