Looking for help on Installing a Spike Air Cleaner.

I purchased a spike air cleaner from AccessoriesHD that will work on my 2004 Ridgeback with SS Super G carb. As I began the install, I realized there will need to be some slight modifications made from the stock air cleaner setup. I'm looking for some step by step support on this. :chopper:

I just finished installing a D&M Spike Filter. Take the old one off, install a rear head chrome breather filter or route to the ground with extra rubber hose, install spike filter. I don’t use the enricher when starting the Dog otherwise install after market to use, back out of the house and go for a test ride.

You might have to remove the float bowl vent plug. See how she runs first.

Hang on guys...remember the 04 has the 107 and the old style head breathers through the bolts. Not even close to the 117.

He HAS to have the special bracket which is setup to breath through the Banjo breather bolts that go into the head. D&M has a bracket that will work.

I believe the DM-53 will work as it has the air holes needed but give D&M a call and you'll have to use the OEM breather bolts.

Looks nice, I have the same spike. You just get a longer bolt for the side with the breather filter?

Eric - do I need the head breathers? The parts guy I spoke with when I bought the kit seams to think I don't. Also, there is a crankcase breather line that comes up and bolts to the OEM filter back plate. What do I do about that?

What modifications are required? It should just bolt on with no issues
Kevin - the kits braket bolts to the air breathers on the heads which appears to close them off. I also have a crankcase braided breather line that comes up and bolts to the back plate of the OEM filter.

You don't need the separate head breathers as long as the mount has holes that run from the Bolt down into the intake. Call D&M and ask them they changed their site since I bought mine 5+ years ago the DM-53 used to be the right one but who knows now that's why I'm telling you to call em. The stock bolts are banjo bolts which allow the flow suck and blow.

The crank breather your only option is either put a filter on it and mount it somewhere or just blow it to the ground. I blow mine to the ground.
