One thing I forgot to mention in the first post about the 442 shocks.....

Progressive 442's are not found on BigDogs 05 and up. I believe some folks have had luck getting them to fit on the 04 and orders LSD.

I don't believe we have a poly bushing on the OEM shocks it's been a year since I had it off, I believe it's sleeved for the bolt rather than having a wear part there which I'm surprised progressive goes that route for shocks mounted horizontal. Can anyone confirm? Manual seems to agree

My 07' does have the nylon bushings for the shoulder bolt, they are not very thick though.

I Dont recall them being replaceable however?

Nylon is different this is a poly bushing and by the looks of it a rather soft poly bushing as well.

I guess I'm trying to figure out if it's even possible with the Worx OEM shocks.

No, you guys are correct
The progressives only work on 04 and older bikes
05 and newer shocks are hard mounted without any provision to add a bushing.
With as many breakages as I've seen though I don't understand why the engineers did not just go with a straight 5/8 bolt instead of a 5/8 shoulder bolt with 1/2" threads. All they had to do was up the size of the mount gussets etc a little too allow for the larger mount tube.

I remember a while back you were thinking of machining some grade 8 ones or did for yourself. Did that end up hitting the back burner?

No, the ones you can still get are grade eight already. I've looked into having some titanium ones made but it's too cost prohibitive.

Was heading up to the cities (mpls/St Paul mn) last weekend to have some ele work done on 04 Chopper. Must have dropped a bold out of the shocks about 100 miles before I got there.
Anyone know what a set of shocks cost????

Progressive 422s are in the $420 range
For others who can't afford them or don't want to spend that much there are others in the $200 ranger. Neither include bolts.

I have an 05 bulldog and I have the progressive 422 heavy duty shocks on it. No problems at all the best ride I have ever had.

Thanks for all the comments. I hope this becomes a standard annual check. Personally I always looked at all the bolts on an annual basis but until this happened to me, I never checked for movement with the shock themselves, that would indicate the bushings have worn or actually fell out.
