Shifter rod

The reason for the different rod lengths, is because your dealing with different frames. A Daytec frame, Big Dog frame and the RC frames are all designed different, putting the controls in a different place.

So after looking at all them shifter rods I found online.. they have many different leng5hs and I'm just gunna buy one that close to the size the Eric has and I know works for him. Lol

If go 14-3/4 if I were you. Cause I don't have any threads showing so there is still 1.5" of play in mine. Shorter is probably better bet

Well I ordered the 15 3/8" which is an inch shorter then what I have and the 14 3/4" so one of an should work... I prefer to have as least as possible threads showing from the joints...

Shannon not only built my extension kit he lengthend my shifter rod, not sure if he wants me spreading that around lol! My has worked flawlessly since day 1. I seen one he machined too. Very nice piece.

I don't mind, but looking at what he can buy them for, I'm way out of that price range, unless he wants something custom.

I do appreciate the time yesterday brother.. and Yeah, maybe if I go crazy custom it'd be worth it.. but for 30 bucks.. hard not to just buy a few and make it work..

I'm Hoping JR chimes in.. he has both bikes and I'm assuming both of them have factory controls.. just an assumption brother.. lol

I'll measure them up tonight. I do have stock on both. But some 04's have the same pegs and such as the 05's and up. My 03 has the Harley controls. That bolts up differently to the frame...and its a Daytech to boot. So on the 03 I bolt up to that aluminum motor mount up front.

Yeah.. That s what Shannon was saying is that 04 and up is what I'm looking for even though they didn't change trans and primary until 05.. it's screwy.. but I just ordered two different sizes.. simple math puts me at 15 3/8" thats 2 1/2" longer then my factory rod.. so i ordered that one and another a bit shorter.. so we will see which one works.. appreciate u chiming in brother
