Think I used those with the welder to hold the nut and washer. That was when I was making the baffles.Visegrips? Shame on you..![]()
Makes sense, just seeing visegrips on a lift raises red flags for me..like the dudes at the local Harley shop..Think I used those with the welder to hold the nut and washer. That was when I was making the baffles.

There are several threads on it. I have been testing different ways to get it really shinny. Depending on how bad it is, sanding works really well. Start with 1000 grit if it's really bad, then work your way up to 3000 grit. If it's just stained and discolored, use 0000 steal wool, then 3000 grit paper. Then finish it off with mother's billet polish. The secret is, flannel cloth. Get rid of the micro fiber rags, they scratch.is that chrome or severely polished al? Ya, seen it...show off...
Go to Wallyworld and buy it by the yard, for less than $4.00 a yard. Then cut it up in squares and strips.Buffalo Industries (60235) 13" x 24" Flannel Dust Cloth, (Pack of 12) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N2HQQ3I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_kFrmzbKYN1E9G
Just ordered these. Cotton flannel. 12 of them for $15 shipped. Didn't know microfiber scratched till Dent said something about it a few weeks back. Tried an old cotton shirt and sure as heck Mr. Blind You Sparkles was right.

Inherent problem about chrome...Mothers billet works well on aluminum, big fan of it. Any suggestions, tips on how to address the dreaded flaking chrome issues, that some of the dogs are prone to?
