I want to replace my breather filters on my 2004 107 S&S super G. How do the chrome caps that cover the bolts come off? I found a set screw in the back of the bottom ring of the breather but can not get to it. So I want to remove it so I can get to it better. The cap has no set screw that I can fine. I do not want to mess it up. How do you remove it? Help please.

I use a pair of soft grip pliers to pull mine off. I also use a dab of rtv to keep them in place.

Is it an allen screw?... you might try using a ball-end allen to loosen that set screw.
It might give you the angle needed.

I don't have that but interested. Are you saying no threads? Just push on and pull off?
mine do not have a set screw in them they just push on an pull off. That is why I use the rtv. You may have to remove the air filter to get to the set screw

Thanks Paul,
That was my next try. Those are just chrome plastic caps ,mine had no rtv either. All that and the breather filter looks clean anyway. I will use silicone when I put them back on.

Big D the set screws where on the breathers at the bottom in the back. Easy to get too once off the bike.
Gotcha... Didn't know if a different type allen would get it, without even having to remove that cover... Did it come off alright for ya?
