Did you polish your brake calipers with Mother's billet?View attachment 44233 View attachment 44234 View attachment 44235 View attachment 44236 View attachment 44232 View attachment 44229 View attachment 44231Ok here are some pics of polished parts.
no I did not. I took all the parts to my k-9 to a professional polisher that uses equiptment that cost several thousands of dollars. Mothers Billet would not work on my k-9 the Alu was in to bad of condition. I did use mothers billet on my mastiff in the pic above, however it did not get out everything on that bike too. I'll do that bike in the future as well. Some stuff hand polishing with a rag just won't work..Did you polish your brake calipers with Mother's billet?

Man, you starting to forget stuff. Don't you remember telling me about that before. That's before I put the new tube on and fixed the overflow problem with the bowl seat valve.
That's a beautiful job for a short guy with long arms.View attachment 44253 just do a little early h afternoon and before you know it she's just like new
I like the knickers
How did you locate a shop with a professional polisher? I live in SW Virginia right on the North Carolina state line and I would love to have this done to my bike especially the motor .No

I imagine they would require you to remove it from the bike. How did you locate a shop with a professional polisher? I live in SW Virginia right on the North Carolina state line and I would love to have this done to my bike especially the motor .
If you are going to get your engine polished I recommend getting them diamond cut. The diamond cut really holds the shineFrom 2 ft. away it does look good, but even the mothers Billet cant take out the little pits and calcium spots. The mastiff was taken better care of as far as polishing goes than the k-9. I gotta have a chip in one of the flames fixed and the little dent at the bottom of the rear fender repaired too. Im also gonna have the polisher strip and polish my rocker boxes, the chrome is peeling bad. My fork tubes are starting to peel on the back side next to the fender mounts. There are so many little spots I cant get to on the motor to polish so its got some bad stains too.
The polisher thats doing the k-9 motor said he had to sand the entire motor to get it to come out right. Im real stoked about seeing it.
Haha those new pipes Paul? Or old photo? If you are going to get your engine polished I recommend getting them diamond cut. The diamond cut really holds the shineView attachment 44267
I bet it cost a pretty penny but it looks amazing!I imagine they would require you to remove it from the bike.
Might just look for a motorcycle detailer.
call a local shop that deals with used bikes and see who they use to detail their bikes they bring in.
You can also google aluminum polishing services in your area.
I am kinda curious what it cost him to get it all done...i bet it wasn't cheap!

Thanks! I think I'm going to take them to Kendall Johnson's shop in Winston-Salem and get them polished and diamond cut while they are off the bike. I May even get them powder coated instead of polished but I have not decided yet. Here's a place near you..just going by googling "aluminum polishing south west Virginia"

Have you tried lifting the shocks up a bit? Also while I mounted the pipes and tightend up the 1/2" nuts I kind of manipulated them to sit up higher.Dang lucky. I dont know if I can

I found this guy on craigslist, the first thing I gave him was just a test part i didnt care about to see what kind of quality work he did. The part look perfect so I took him the rest of the stuff I needed done. How did you locate a shop with a professional polisher?
