Head gaskets will last a long time IF you let the bike warm up before reving the motor... I see guys all the time start the bike and rev it up and that tends to blow out head gaskets. Until the heads are too warm to touch the bike isn't ready to ride... Say what you will but this is the way it is... Start the bike, then go get your vest, gloves, glasses and sit on it until the heads are hot... If you don't you will have oil all over your pants and a big bill to fix....

I always let it warm up. Never had an issue with the 03. Just got the K9 in July. Motor was used and from another bike. Chances are probably not something I did. Just happened on my watch.

I have the s&s tech manual which goes into detail on replacing the gasket. If you need a step by step let me know I can snap a picture and text them to you. Or scan them at work this week and email?

Per code and serial number...engine is a 2005 Super Sindwinder Evo 124 "R" with a 4 & 1/8 bore. Can't find a part number for the top end gasket kit.

4-1/8 is same bore as 117". Not sure how the bolt pattern or location would change? Only difference is a longer stroke!

Cube = Bore x Stroke
124 = 4.125 x 4.625
120 = 4.125 x 4.500
117 = 4.125 x 4.375
113 = 4.060 x 4.375
110 = 4.000 x 4.375
107 = 3.937 x 4.375 (106.5)
103 = 3.875 x 4.375
96 = 3.750 x 4.375
