The BIG problem with a 3 way switch is IF you go to a bar at night in town and forget to turn on your lights you will see blues and jail... Ask me how I know. A 2 way on/off is a better way to go IF you put in a LED headlight which doesn't take much juice when starting.

I always ask myself did you kill it? a little habit I picked up when I used to night race years ago. happened to actually see a guy who forgot his kickstand leaving an outerwear bike shop in Pittsburgh and man, did he ever get effed up. the guy quit riding after he got out of the hospital. it caught a seam in the concrete in the middle if a turn, kicked up in the air and tossed him before a long skid......

but back on point I like the fact that initial draw from a head light doesn't affect a 3 position ignition. since this seems like the problem and I have identified the one that is there right now

has some good deals on LED headlights. If you use the 3 pole switch the headlight doesn't matter when starting but like I said remember to turn it on or you will make new friends quick.

no, not as yet. the only reason was because all of the running lights went out at the same time. with that said, I am going to guess that it could still be the problem. been on the clock 2 weeks straight but will investigate all possibilities on Saturday or Sunday. when I go to start it or just turn the key, the rear lights come on weakly for a split second and then nothing. thanks for the suggestion though. I will add it to the short list of possibilities!

no, but to be safe just in case a visual doesn't show any damage and for peace of mind, I will use an upgrade. any suggestions on where or whom to purchase from?

Convert to an LED headlight while you're in there. Then the ceramic connector is just redundancy.

Unless you wanna take your tank off go with the WSW one. I don't know why you'd go through all the trouble to take a tank off to put a new plug on.

I had the WSW plug on for years I just removed it for a new one but the old one was fine.
