BIG DOG GAS CAP PAINT SAVER INSTALLATION REMOVER TOOL SINGLE OR DUAL GAS TANK

I must be one of the lucky ones. I bought a paint saver from Mr. Wright and a paint saver removal tool from Derek and Donna....expecting the worse, the OEM paint saver came out relative easily. While I had it out, I ordered the Kuruakyn flush mount fuel cap that I saw other owners used and I liked the look. Waiting for its arrival.

shovelheadkicker on EBay...
and also I believe Curtis at Wild Steed Worx has them.
I'd send you mine to use and you can just mail it back, but I loaned it to a friend to use...
No woop, I figured I'd need one anyways but thanks for the offer..

My OEM cap is bubbled so I figured I would change to the Kuryakan flush mount. Still waiting on flush mount, but the paint saver from Mr. Wright covered a little nick by my OEM paint saver. Exactly what I needed.

Man that looks really good Mike.. I like your paint too. Mr. Wright sent mine out today and I have the Kuryakan flush mount, can't wait all should be ready for a Saturday install.. Hope I don't have any problems removing the old OEM one. Crossing my fingers.

Thanks...I feel fortunate because I saw another post where the tool broke because the paint saver just didn't want to come out.

Mr. Wright

Knows some things
That's why I don't provide then tool along with the ring. I really don't want that responsibility. But if worse comes to worse, and you can't find one, I'll look into how much it would be to make them.
I have a Mastiff in my shop that needs a ring, but I can't get the old saver out. Going to try a prototype tool here soon. If it works I'll post the results.

Try the method below, it does work:smash::smash:
:oldconfused:I used a blunted chisel and a hammer.
my 2001 both came right off

How did you get it out:oldconfused:
I was one of the lucky ones...I used the paint saver removal tool, I inserted a screwdriver into the tool for leverage and it popped loose and unscrewed without much effort...I looked and there wasn't any adhesive on the threads, just under the rim of the paint saver...:)
