Had to change my light during a trip. I beat that bucket into submission with a BFH and a screwdriver. Got light changed but had to buy a new bucket when I got home. It looked like a dog had been chewing on it. I use anti seize now and have no problem getting it off.

I did what was suggested here and drilled a few little holes on the ring. Not all the way through ,but, enough to get a small punch on it. It worked great.

thank guys, I'm giving up. I'm going to take it to the shop today before I take a hammer to it.
FYI: theres another ring behind it that requires a special tool to turn. The tool looks like a 5 inch solid metal rod (like a cheap ballpoint pen barrel) with a wee little tit sticking out from the end. May want to get one or have an alternate tool ready.

Haha, another day another issue, on the first ride since getting the headlight resolved the starter is now leaking. Just started taking everything off to get to the starter. I assuming it's just the O ring, I plan on just replacing it. if anyone has a different opinion or idea please speak up.

I have said this before, " Bigdogs are like beautiful women, they're high maintenance and you don't get to ride them all the time."

I hope your right, but I had a starter that filled up with oil because the oil return slot was milled too deep.

Theres an o ring behind the gear, thats the one that prevents oil from getting inside. The o-ring on the nose just prevent oil from leaking where its mounted

the nose cap has a hole in it, I will see if Bigdog in St. Louis has one. If not I plan on getting a new starter from Curtis
