I did a bad thing

I did a bad thing. I went to go visit my ma and pa on Saturday with the bike. When I got off the bike I left the key on for about an hour or so. Then I did a worse thing, I tried to start it more than a few times. Then I noticed smoke coming off the negative side of the battery post. After tighting all the connections I put a 10 amp charger on the battery for about a half hour and try to start it again. Then I noticed that the ignition module not coming on or flashing. The next day I brought the bike home on a trailer. Today I checked the cam sensor. Thanks to youall I been doing some studying. The cam sensor seems to be checking out ok. Then I started to look at the ignition module the four little wires going into the module. Red = 8 volts, yellow = 8 volts, green = 5 volts. Where am I losing almost 5 volts? So I think what I'm going to do is get a new battery and make sure that all my connections and grounds are good and go from there. So from besides me being a idiot what do you all thank?

Ok, I called Curtis from WSW wanting to throw a bunch of parts at my 04 Mastiff. Cam sensor, ignition module and a R.I.P. He said he'd be happy to sell me the parts. But after I explained to him that I was only getting 8 volt to the ignition module. Being the good man that he is he suggested that I try to get the 12 volts into the ignition module. So I did, I ran a wire from the battery + to the red wire of the input to the ignition module using a little pin. The Dog started so now I know it's not the cam sensor or the ignition module. But I still don't understand why I'm only get 8 volts from the E.H.C

Because your EHC is starting to take a big fat shit on you....Its losing the driver circut inside of it for the Ignition Module and limiting the amount of Voltage Output to the Ignition Module,broken solder joints,or whatever,but its going away bud.....My Bike did the excat same thing...and it was also burning up Cam Sensors left and right....I rewired my bike with a RIP Kit from Curtis,and it starts every time now,no more burning up Cam Sensors.....and the Peace of Mind knowing your bike is gonna start every time...Priceless.....I would recommend rewiring your bike if you want to do any mods........

Yes that's kind of what I'm thinking too. I don't mind doing the mods, being all original is just a good starting point. I'm just trying to see if I'm on the right track with my thinking. I hate seeing the dog with his tail down.

Your on the right track man, the RIP kit is a great Mod,and much needed upgrade........if you decide to rewire your bike with a RIP kit,lemme know I can call you and help walk you threw some things that will make the Install easier for you......Curtis is a great help also...

Roger That.................lemme know when you get it...if you order one.....I will call you and walk ya threw it,give ya some tips and install secrets,so it will be as painless and FAST as can be.....I rewired my bike in one day..( With a Broken right hand).....There pretty easy once you get going

I'm going to put a closer on this trend. I installed the RIP1. I'm not going to lie there was parts of the installation that was a real bitch and I got disceraged a couple of times but I got it. The only thing I kept thinking is if Diesel Dan can do with a broken hand then I should have no problem. It did take me biggest part of a day. The best part about it is that everything worked exactly as it's supposed to and it looks real nice starts and runs good, lights, horn, speedo everything works with out a glitch. Thank you Curtis and Diesel Dan.

Replaced my Heart last year
