Valve Pushrod Slide fully seated??

Guys, need a tad bit of help. I adjusted the valves - great do it yourself job! BUT, I noticed one of the front cylinder exhaust pushrod sliding tube will not seat down inside the machined block on the engine. I dont recall if it was like this before I slid them up. All the other 3 sit deep in the block.

So After I get it done, I start her up. BIG oil leak from that area. I unclip, slide up, re-seat the thin washer, and again slide the cover down with the oring on it. Leak is fixed (confirmed with a 10 mile ride :)). But the damn thing is still not sitting in there like it should. I think the countersink area should be deeper?

Is this correct??? Are yours like this?? Its a 107

Thanks!!20160131_120816 (1).jpg

My front one is not as deep of a seat as the rear. These are from the original factory set I haven't had to adjust them

One of the old ones.
If it does not leak, you're good. If it is not assembled and seated correctly, it'll leak. There is not much wiggle room for the little washers and O-rings.
One embarrassing time for me was when after servicing the bike, I found we installed the pushrod tubes upside down! Oil everywhere, and we were just taking off for BBBQ in Fayetteville (or 'Fet-vull') for you locals..... I know better, but sometimes you screw up. You do need to handle the O-rings with care, not because they are fragile, but if you accidentally cut one getting rough with the covers, you have to do a lot of work to replace it....(ask how I know). Just be sure they are seated properly and covered by the flat washers.
Any little kink or piece of debris will result in a seep, too. You want to clean the seats and o-rings real good before re-assembly.

Thanks guys!! Seems I'm ok. The pic on Srodden looks like mine - although I'm surprised that one doesn't go deeper. And after the re-seating, its not leaking anymore. Should be good to go - Thanks!!

The coolest part of the day was getting 10 miles on the seat. 57 today. Haven't ridden in months!
