I have a 2008 Ridgeback that at does not sweep the speedometer twice when starting. I understand there was a reflash available. What is involved in having the bike reflashed, and who can do it?? Thanks Guys!!

If Curtis cant, holler at Doug or Will at C.A.Jones in Wichita.

Edit: fwiw, my 04 Pit does not do a full sweep. Kinda acts like it might and then gives up. Never affected the way she runs tho.....just my .02.

Yes...bought it from someone who gave up on it. I did buy the EHC off EBay so that is most likely why. I did have KMW upgrade the spare EHC I bought off them. You may want to talk to them.

The quick and dirty:
OP: Other than that, the speedo is spot on.
DTT: Let it ride.

OP: What is sweep?
DTT: Flip-flop or zero out gauge to 0000.

OP: So the truth tables still compute rpm vs. gear speed?
DTT: Yes. I fill up, dump, fill up; I need to know at what X and Y is every spit second, then I compute and the speedo should read the same if swept or not; it still dumps RAM to ground.

So if I understand the DTT, the OP's answer should be; 'Speedo still reads perfectly without sweep present.'

Sven, you are one funny but smart dude! :old2:
Hey thanks, cdogg. I can't help it. It's all about me hitting 'Post Reply' I start laughing my ass off. Not my situation or problem sort of try and sort it out anyway... see how lucky I am at the electrical roulette wheel.

We can flash EHCs but not speedometers.
I'm curious about that walk in the abstract. I'm assuming that speedo is giving me two clues with limited input on my end of the guess. One, Kobi did not say both no sweep and an inaccurate speedo. Two, the assumption that the increase of the last mph alone has dumped and is now in wait mode of a 0000 time frame so as no binary to calc in volts. So, if the sweep does the same 0000 RAM to ground, the speedo should theoretically work forever without the sweep. Maybe guess three ways is think of other BD speedo sweeps lost. No one is seeing a loss of mph as if it needed the sweep in other words.

The abstract makes sense I use DTT as my 3 moves? Only Kobi knows for sure. Don't let me get Franco to pull the answer out of your ass. Yes I have an accurate speedo without sweep or not? No skin off my ass you buy a fucking speed that is working fine for a sweep LOL

Sven, I have the concern where my speedo will not function at all at times. I noticed this only happens when the bike sits a while and not on a battery tender. I checked the battery voltage after a week or two and it drops down to about 12.5 without a tender. The bike will crank over fine, but the speedo will not read MPH or register miles. Most of the time I let it warm up a bit, shut it off and restart the bike and its fine. I noticed others have had issues just like this, and that BD made a change to the speedo function to take another look at battery voltage after the bike is started, thus corrects the intermittent concern.

I did have a half thought on this but waited for your answer. Look what you are saying as I'll paraphrase... "I shut it off, it dumps RAM, I turn it back on again, that's two key fobs of a dual sweep or dual memory dumps, then works fine."

BD made a change to the speedo function to take another look at battery voltage after the bike is started, thus corrects the intermittent concern.
That does not make sense. Look at what you are saying in the paraphrase... "I have a static 12.5v and there is no way the battery charges up to 12.8v on warm up. Rather, for some reason I turned the engine off, turned it back on and I recognized I have a working speedo. How is it I'm 12.5v to the good if 5v is all that is needed to compute for startup to begin with. I might not recognize the dual keyfob dump vs. dual sweep to ground; seems to be doing the same thing. Then all of a sudden the speedo works with a low battery."

So the next move is fuck the warm up, just keyfob twice. See if the speedo works right out of the gate, low battery and all.

I love ya, Kobi... for the answer that is. You've got nothing to lose but school me or school you. We are half way there you say the speedo runs fine was my assumption of the theory... seeing is you found a discovery of a good working speedo without sweep. Only your keyfob knows for sure.

Can an original EHC from a 07 K9 be ref lashed? And what does that do for it?
Any of the EHCs can be flashed.
Corruption can occur in the onboard data which can cause weird issues.
I've solved quite a few EHC problems with reflashing but I can generally tell from initial testing if its data corruption or hardware failure.
