question about changing air filters

have an 04 big dog chopper. it currently has the s&s air filter, but i bought a Chrome Billet Aluminum Cone Spike Air Cleaner Intake filter and the holes do not line up. is there an adaptor i can get so i can put the new cone filter on? thanks

If all else fails, make your own. Find someone with a lathe and give him dimensions and material. Had an adapter made so I could flip mine vertical. Like Franco said, we really need more info to help ya.....

I have an 04 Ridgeback with a spike on it and yes it does have an adaptor between it and the carb so yes someone must do one, but I have no idea who as it was already on mine when I bought her.

D&m is the only one that makes the correct adapter for the 04 that works with the spike as far as I'm aware. Needs to be an adapter with head breathers. Super important can't emphasize that enough

Couse it runs straight to the right under the tank over the top motor mount.... If I directed it to the rear it would interfere with the enrichener lever.

Thanks. That was the first year I got the bike... hardly at home to ride it, just making mods while on R&R and very little riding.... I hate polishing! :oldsmile:

Next Friday I´ve got a "real" Ride... 1200 Miles..... it will be the first real test for my Yellow Bitch, and I am riding alone, all the others are coming from different areas of Spain and we all will met in Alicante.

I am a bit nervous to be honest! Fingers crossed!!!!

1200 miles? Drop in the bucket no problemo!

Not sure the roads over there but 600 miles in a day is very possible. How much time do you have?

Honestly when I rode the Ridgeback after about 300 I couldn't ride much anymore. With the k9 after I ride 300 I feel like I'm missing something, did 600 miles in 2 days a couple weeks ago and I felt I cheated myself. Once you start doing the longer tours 1,000 miles plus over a weekend the shorter ones kinda feel well short and you just want to keep riding! At least that's me!

Leaving Friday morning.... spend the weekend there and back home on Sunday afternoon (I bet it will be on Monday). I will take the H/Way all the way.... I will stop for fuel, have a piss and get some power bars/drinks in my system only.

I am not worried about me, just about the K9, she should be fine though.... she has about 1500 miles on her only since all the Mods; Cam, Heads, Rocker Boxes, etc. Original EHC though.

BTW, it will be 600 Miles each way. 1200 + some running around in total.

You have a spare EHC you are taking? I'm sure you won't need it, but good practice to not leave home without it.

Since I just ran into this issue when was the last time you lubed the ol clutch cable?
