I know I'm getting old when I can't figure this out. How do I get this copper lug from the copper wire without ruining either one, so I don't have another week for another bike part. OH! And how do I get the rubber boot cover back into that little hole. Thanks Ken

Two options, you can either cut the end off and replace it, or if it was me, I would order a whole new wire from the Kaptin, pull the starter and replace the whole thing. This way it will save you from having starter problems down the road.

I'll cut it off I think, but I just came back from H. Depot-they have the right ring hole size but guess what-- it's 5/16" shorter in length--to short to bolt up. I'll keep looking. Thank you Shannon

Ken, I know it's redneck engineering, but sometimes in a pinch I have made terminals by pinching the end of 3/8" copper tubing and drilling the stud hole in the flat end.. usually solder them to the wire Might get you by till you can get a proper fix.

Well that's definitely old school right there, he could even make it a little longer to make up for the distance he cut off, wait to go Chubs:old2:
