Okay have a question I'm having such issues again shifting I believe I have found what my issues are. I see no leaks on the garage floor I believe my transmission fluid is ending up in the primary side I went on a 100-mile toy run on Saturday shifted perfect through the whole ride towards the end it started having trouble shifting up very difficult I believe it was due to low transmission fluid what are you guys think is this going to be an easy fix by removing the primary and changing out all seals which ones do you recommend changing out.

Well if your loosing tranny fluid into the primary, I would think your going to need the tranny seal, with that said, there is a primary o-ring kit from Baker for I believe $100 that has all the o-rings for the primary back plate. Do you have a manual for your bike? If not go to Bakers website and they have a diagram for the primary and the tranny for our Dogs

Are you sure you had low trans fluid?

Start on the easy stuff first..... it did happen to me....

Lubricate the hem-joints on the shifter-bar.

Positive just checked last night after bike sat for 1 day and Trans oil not showing on oil stick. I will be this evening opening the plug and measure how much is in tranny. The other day I added over 8 ounces. I will also be measuring how much fluid comes out of the primary.

Ok follow up.... drained Trans oil was not 20 Oz maybe 14oz. Drained primary looks to be 32oz but was gray. Also reading some posts I did have some lurching in 2nd 3rd and 4th gear. I guess I'll be taking off the clutch chain and front sprocket nut to inspect further. I'll see if any play on main shaft. Gray oil concerns me in primary

another question is "where did the other 6 oz. of trans. fluid go?" trans should be 20 oz but the primary was right on at 32 oz. and you said you already added 8 oz. before so that is a total of 14 oz. gone. inquiring minds want to know. and i would think that, yes, low fluid would cause some problem shifting.

I'm just trying to go back through my mind and questioning my own thoughts if I have been riding like that for some time without much transmission fluid

Also a side note I have not opened up the primary to get whatever transmission or primary fluid completely out and have not measured what's in the pan I will be doing that tearing into the primary tonight

ok, i thought you had already taken off the outer primary. there will be a few more ounces still in the cover, so be ready for a small flood when you separate the halves. and it is kinda impossible to not make a mess with this, just put a bunch of paper towels and maybe some oil dry on the floor under the primary as best as you can. and be ready to wipe. it won't just come from one spot, it will be the whole thing. as soon as you can, rotate the top of the outer toward you to stop it from draining.

Ok after opening the primary I had 32 ounces of oil. So coming to the conclusion from the transmission to the primary the transmission was a quarter low in fluid I will be tearing into the clutch this weekend had a rough day at work going to chill. I do on my agenda want to check the main shaft for any movement
