Rattle Noise.... where it comes from????

can you hear it clearly if you take the gas cap off?

I would swear the noise on mine comes from under the battery box / trans/ pulley area... it sounds like the exhaust but its not.

I don't ride without my gas cap off but I can get a screw driver and move the piece around inside the tank. But my noise comes from the front of the bike without a doubt. It sounds like you are pretty sure yours is coming from the side.

Well.... I just got an ear-full of petrol while sticking my ear in there...... then I stuck my ear on the tank and all hear is like a U-Boat noise... gossshhhhhh.......... fuel pump?

But definitely not rattling.... I keep hearing it down below the battery box on the right side!

My top end, lifters & trans only have about 1500 Miles... those were all done by Andrew here in Spain.

I still don´t get it.

Hey Franco, check your passenger pegs. The right side will sometimes vibrate on the pipes and rattle like crazy. Just a thought....the mounts maybe loose too?

Checked! I dunno what else to check........ I´ve been almost a week chasing this little mouse!!!

Yesterday it became more noticeable.... but it beats me!!!

I have had to re-weld the rear exhaust bracket twice. The most recent time, it was a pretty much invisible hairline crack. Torqued it with a big screwdriver and sure enough.....

Check your pulley belt cover that is mounted to the trans.

Nah... there are no rattle noises... just weird voices!

Had a rattle going to work one afternoon, mainly on acceleration . Panicked, went back home very carefully, smart ass kid looks at it and says " why is your gas cap loose?" Was feelin to stupid to kick his ass for laughing at the old man.
