Rear drive belt issue

You mentioned that your top motor mount bolt was missing. Was it the one that mounts to the frame, and if so did you loose your spacer between the motor mount and the frame? It is a 3/8" thick aluminum spacer.

Well... Yes that was the one... I don't have a spacer in that location... Is the 2006 K9 supposed to have one???

Dubbs, Sorry I couldn't reply about how I found the worn transmission drive pulley, I was out of town. l noticed that the two bolts that keep the big retaining nut from backing off were worn into the side of the retaining nut which indicated that something was moving.

Well took everything all apart and inspected everything real good... Swing arm, wheel and the output shaft/pulley all looked good...

So as a last stitch effort I loosened all 6 transmission mounting bolts and all 5 engine mounting bolts... Set my back tire to where it was as perfectly straight as it could be... I shifted the rear of the transmission to the right and rotated the tire... The belt went in so far on the front pulley that it started rubbing the tire... It was kinda tricky to get the belt to run exactly where it needed to be but I finally got it... What a pain in the butt!!!

Rode it home and the belt isn't rubbing anymore!!!:whoop:

Anything wrong with what I did???

I think that you have done very well!
The only thing that comes to my mind is that while you had all the bolts loose
you could have checked that there are shims of correct thickness in there.

Paul.

Yeah it had several shim... I didn't get my feelers out but everything looked good... If it moves I'll reshim everything...
