As stated in my earlier post, I want to run new plugs with my new coil and wires.spark plugs are very seldom the problem of poor running.
If new plugs make it better , find out what is causing the plugs to fail .
Bad fuel mixture is the usual culprit, followed by bad fuel flow to the carb, or fuel injection.
air cleaners, manifold leaks, wrong exhaust. are next in line .
timing is very seldom off , (unless it is screwed with ) .
Original plugs in my pitbull ( over 6K)
18K on the Fatboy original
20+k on the sporty ( one change when I broke one).
All are v-twins
Any chance you know the gap off hand? .40 I'm assumingHere ya go, some reading for you.
Oh, what bike do you have? these below are for the 117 ci. The 107 ci are using a different plug, I think....

Here, in case you need it, I am attaching some Carb tips.
Not completely sure yet since I haven't ridden it but just in the garage it seems like a different machine. My front plug was considerably darker than the back. I'm sure the coil or wire was to blame. Going to watch the plugs for the next month or soI just got done battling a few things one of them was related to rear cylinder bad plug... At the end of it all, while the plugs made a big difference, I chose the E3's, it still wasn't 100%... From there I had the injectors cleaned, at idle the rear one was plugged up pretty good, the intake manifold was also a mess, which in turn also turned the IAC into a mess too which affected the idle and Off Idle Throttle response... After cleaning the injectors, IAC, intake manifold, new plugs, it's running way better...
