EHC Module Problem?

I know I'll catch hell for not searching the forum... But I'm broke down in the rain with my little girl..so I'm somewhat in a panic...
I have a 07 BDM Chopper... was lugging a hill and my tack lights went out... I rolled into the throttle and leveled out....then the engine dies and I lost all power (lights) to the speedometer..... When I turnover the key the Oil and Neutral light will do a quick flash and go out...... is there a way to do a Reset or road side re-route?? Thanks in advance for any help offered...

Try this

It sounds like you have gotten water in the EHC connectors under the seat.
The only way to cure that is to disconnect the battery positive, pull the EHC connectors, clean them thoroughly, put fresh di-electric grease in and plug the connectors back into the EHC.
Not the easiest road side repair but its that or tow her home.

Thanks for the tip.. when the Dog shutdown on me it was dry weather... So I'm not sure if it got we or how it would..... I pulled both leads off the battery for several minutes.. after the recollection is when I got the Oil and "N" light to flash..... Need less to say, me and my kid weather's a storm on the roadside while waiting on the tow truck....

that's a bummer dude, same happen to me last night. warm the bike up(07 K9) as I always do ran down to local target to buy some cat food came out nothing. I looked under the seat no blue light no light on ignition no power. Turn over just fine but nothing. Even pulled the cover off exposing on/off/run switch nothing. sorry to hijack your thread but I think we know what happen to(us?)me for sure. This morning it fired up just fine.

Here is when you wish you had spent one of those winter days carrying out some "Preventive Maintenance". Once a year, it only takes 3 hours, or a whole day depending on the amount of beer, etc.

Withe Preventive Maintenance I mean going through all wires & connectors making sure they are ok and applying Dielectric Grease on all connections.

Well boys.. it does seem my Dog has bit the big one... I was getting weird voltage on the battery...pulled my buddy's battery, just to see if mine was shot....and noticed a "light" between the A and B connection.... I pulled the B connector and saw the "light" was an arch... now I can see there is a short in the module..... with work slow like it is, money is an issue on getting this fixed... I know it's best to buy the complete replacement kit.... for now, can I buy only the Module??? or anyone have a tip on a good cheap kit??

EHCs are few and far between now and when you do find one they want 400 or more for it.
There are no good "Cheap" kits put there unfortunately.
If your good with electrical and have the time your best bet will be to install the Thunderheart module.

There should be someone in here with a spare EHC sitting on the shelve..... If I wasn't too far away I would send you my spare one.

Yeah. I was seeing light between A and B Connector... knowing the isn't a "light" between the two. I pulled the B Connector and could see the light was an arch from a short on the Board... when I pulled A Connector it list power feed to that circuit and showed no arch.... now you can see where the area is burned under protection coating......

I can now understand me getting a quick flash on my Oil and N light at the speedometer.... my thinking is when the short circuit jumped it was enough arch to flash power and light up the Oil and N light....
But it looks like my Battery now has a bad Cell... does it make sense that the Module would the Battery???

Voltage w/out leads = 13.5v
Voltage with leads (key off) 12.8v
Voltage with key on drops to 3v
??????????

Don't see how a bad EHC could fry a battery.

I don't think a bad EHC would fry the battery but if you had water in the A connector that was grounding the positive from the battery it could easily take out the battery.

We cleaned all the connectors and fusses on the bike but she ran like bitch, had to keep the revs up or she would stall and then you would have to go through the same again.
Is there another wiring kit you can put through the dogs as it seems to be a common theme.

I know this Module has a short between A and B...
Please excuse my Noobness, But I am confused on what replacement part(s) I should be looking into... something like the Wires Plus, RIP Kit or DOC's ESC???
Will theses kits totally do away with the need of the EHC Module??

RIP and ESC both use the thunder heart control module. They come pre wired "plug and play" for your specific bike. You can also buy the thunder heart and wire yourself for about half the cost.

They replace the EHC.

Do not buy a wire plus. It will massacre your wiring, install nightmare, and not very reliable. I'm on my third replacement. And to top it off they are a$$holes to deal with if you can get them to answer the phone.
