Good news! :2thumbs:

Now.... what's all about the "pool of blood in the shop"??? :D

Just pure stupidity. I was trying to get the exhaust flange retaining rings off the old headers, but not having the correct tool I was using two pairs of vice grips. Something slipped, I'm not quite sure what happened but I was bleeding quite impressively.

You'd think I'd have learned to get the right tool, but no... I've learned to wear good quality gloves when doing stupid things. :)

John, I was just working on my bike and noticed that I had to space out the mounting plate that bolts to the transmission. It takes two 3/8 I'd by 3/4 inch long and one 5/16 I'd by 3/4 inch long spacers. That will move the mount out enough to miss the bolts that hold the swing arm bushing in. You will also need longer bolts and some blue thread locker. I got my hardware at Menards. They have a good selection of chrome stuff. Good luck. I hope you like the new exhaust.

Oh and do a plug check to make sure they don't lean your mixture out.

Thanks for the tip re: the spacing. I don't know if I'll have this issue or not... I have a nicely fitted 3/4 inch aluminum spacer on the transmission, seems maybe it was meant to be there for this exact reason. If not I'll be sure to grab the spacers and bolts as you specified.

I assume that the chrome bracket we see in your photo comes with the exhaust, can you confirm?

I never did get a UPS tracking number for my exhaust, guess I better call back and see if I can get that. :)

Sounds like the spacer will be just fine. The long bracket should come with the exhaust.
Great, thanks!

We've got a local specialist that can dyno and tune the bike to make sure I'm running as cleanly as possible. Looking forward to receiving the pipes and getting the Boxer running!
