Ignitions... Is it just me?

I have 60K on my present Big Twin, plus many more miles on other m/c's I've owned through the years. Just about every aftermarket Ignition I've tried has "Sh*t the bed" in 1 year or less.
At 40,000 I installed an aftermarket set-up which left me on the side of the road (In a downpour), luckily I brought my original stock ignition along on my cross country trip... My speedo read 45.5K.
In March of 2012 the same thing happened. I had purchased (Another brand) aftermarket Ignition & in March of 2013, the same thing happened to me (I was local so I called a friend to grab my trailer), but I was up & running the next day (Again) with my stock 2000 ignition.
I wish someone had a point set-up for a Twin cam, either that or maybe I'll spend some "Heavy" money & install a magneto!
In 1990 it happened to my EVO, luckily I had a points set-up with me in Reno.
Yes... I've heard similar stories.

Those aftermarket ignitions aren't guaranteed very long & in my case not long enough for me to get reimbursed! As they say... Sh*t Happens!

Nope... I put a Crane H-4 ign system the first day I build or get a new bike. Never had a problem. That is the first thing I changed on my BD chopper.

OK, then I guess "It is just me!"
It's common knowledge that heat kills some electronics.
It seems like I hear more about the cam sensor (or ignition systems that mount in the same place) failing because of heat caused by the exhaust pipes being close enough to make them fail. In some cases (like yours) there are repeated failures, while some never have a problem.
In my '06 Mastiff, I have the Thunderheart ignition module with the crank sensor. No problems with the ignition module yet in 3 years, but I did have a crank sensor go bad once.
