Take a 20 ga wire and jump it from the plus side on the battery and touch the green wire on the starter. If it cranks then it's not the starter.

I think you mean "+" side, not "-"...Take a 20 ga wire and jump it from the Neg side on the battery and touch the green wire on the starter. If it cranks then it's not the starter.

Don't forget to close your eyes.Thinking of crown n 7..... Accidentally spilling a bit on a rag that falls into the gas tank n lights from my cigarette as I bend over to pick up the cup....
According to the PDM wiring diagram, power to the starter shouldn't be running through the 40A fuse so it shouldn't blow when the starter runs even if it has a problem.Unhooked green wire to starter... Jumped starter as specified... Starter turned over n immediately blew the 40amp fuse.
