05 Ridgeback Restrictor plates E carb

My 05 Ridgeback is basically stock with V&H exhaust: one of the
very knowledgable members "Brew" informed
me that all 05s have Restrictor plates and I should
remove rejet and it will be a different bike
even with E carb.

Does anyone have a pic of these plates in between
intake and heads ??

Just curious

Thx

If you pull your carb and stick your finger in there you should feel them if they are still there...

one of the simplest ways of getting rid of the restrictor plates without having the find a new manifold (plates are 1/4-3/8" thick each) is to find a machine shop to trim the port out to match the intake, that way you already have the "spacers" for the intake.

I have photo's on here of them. You do need to have the replacement plates to take up the gap they leave if you just pull them. Or you can have a shop bore out the restrictor plates to the proper size. Makes a big difference and surprised to hear someone still has them in their bike. They were only put in the 05's.

Hard for me to understand how those large diameter holes reduce flow and if I remove it will be noticeable difference?

Thx

Well if you have the restrictor plates they are much smaller. Those in the picture are the replacement plates

Gotcha...........I thought those pictured were restrictor plates; like to see a pic of the restrictor plates if anyone has them.

Here is the difference in the two plates. As stated, stick your finger in the manifold first to feel if you have them in there. No sense in pulling the manifold if you don't have to. You can tell the difference in the restrictor plates and the spacer plates.

If you have access to a small flexible bore scope you could run it through the carb without removing it. It needs to be small enough to get past the venturi tube.
