Finally feeling better so think I will start putting the RIP kit in tomorrow if my nurse lets me. Shouldn't be to hard. It's a lot smaller than the PDM kit.
Stay tuned

I have an o5 chopper and our battery trays a way different? That because of the different frames?

Also its impossible to ride the dog if you are dead btw, take care of yourself!

Edit: NM, you had a PDM in there.

Yeah Jason, my frame (2nd one) is a BDM frame. The PDM required a new battery box but the RIP kit from KMW uses the stock box.

My nurse wouldn't let me out tonight cause my groin is still swollen so maybe get to it in a day or two more.

Groin is swollen? If it wasn't for the surgery (and I have been there) I'd really have to say something smartass about now :D Take it easy brother and get it healed right. The bike, and everything else, will be there waiting for you. I know about getting impatient but it ain't worth f-ing up the work and going back for a re-do. Get everything straight and bomb out to Strokers and I'm sure a few of us on here will pick up a round

I spent 4 hrs in the ER last night, guess I over worked myself yesterday pulling out the PDM. So my nurse is chaining me to the sofa for the next 4 weeks!!!!
I just want to get this bike up and running again.
Slow down old man get yourself healed before you blow the other side out! Heal up and good luck on the install. I am trying to hide the rats nest of wires on the wp and really digging that system

I'm finishing it up tomorrow. Had a follow up with Surgeon yesterday and he gave the okay to go back to normal duties but still no heavy lifting. So will install the kit tomorrow and document all the pictures and post here.
Cant wait to get back on the road. :)

Kansas Motor Works RIP kit

This looks like a big project... my 2008 K9 needs one I am told and I am trying to figure out if I want to do it myself or not... why is this better than the wire+ kit? Does the battery case on the right come with the kit? I am new here... is that really your GF? Doug

A new battery box was only required on the 250 tire size bikes. Yours is fine. I don't know anything about the wire+ but didn't have great success with the PDM so installing this RIP kit from Kansas Motor Works.

Yes that really is my girlfriend :)

I added a few pics to the first post on the install. I cleaned up and painted the original battery box and have it looking brand new
