Yup, I plugged mine in Florida without any issues but each his own I guess .If its just a nail causing the replacement, just put a plug in it. I got 5000 miles out of mine after I plugged it and finally had to be replaced cause it was bald.
A good plugging tool with the mushroom plugs does the same thing without removing the tire.If its not close to the sidwall, I would use a Plug/patch. Not just a plug.
They go in from the inside of the tire, pull through like a plug, but at the end of the plug is a patch to cover the whole it self too. works great.
