FSD Exhaust

Woop Woop !!!!!! Took a nice ride today to give the fsd's a good road test, wow what a difference. Took off the Vance and Hines that I hated and didn't change a jet or setting and its running better than it ever has before, but this winter ill dial it in on the Dyno.
The Vance and Hines pipes would drag on most turns and found out that the FSD's will on the mastiff before the foot pegs hit.
I am real pleased with the S and S intake and the FSD pipes.

I love those pipes and was wondering do they interfere with your leg placement when you come to a stop at a light? or are they in the way at all? thinking of changing to something different this winter.

It seems to be a fairly comfortable setup ,at least no issues yet by hitting with my leg. I think what I will like the best is it doesn't seem to blow up sand and dust on the bike like the Vance and Hines.
At the Florida runs I felt like everything was getting sandblasted at every start up.

Looking good Dave.
If it’s running better than it ever has, why would you want to fool with it?
Personally, I think that it’s a waste of money to tune an S&S carb on the dyno. The S&S carb tuning guide is short and easy to follow. I don’t believe that a dyno will make it any run any better than you can get it using the guide. The biggest difference is that the dyno usually only test at wide open throttle, so cruising around isn’t accounted for. The S&S guide tells you to go ride the thing, see what it does, and then adjust accordingly. There just aren’t many things that you can adjust, and it’s so simple even a caveman can do it (well except for that dang little O-ring).
Now if you have a programmable EFI where you can lean or enrich only at certain RPMs, then sure, dyno tuning is the way to go.
Or if you just want to know how much horsepower and torque you can get.

If anyone asks me how much HP or torque I have, I just tell them “more than enough for me” and if they ask me how fast it is, I just tell them “faster than yours”. So far I only had one guy tell me to prove it (my brother in law) and I can’t get him to put his Suzuki on the road with me for anything.

Looks great Dave, but its tough enough to keep up with you on those Arkansas and South Dakota curves so don't do too much work to that motor.

We will do some tuning on dolphin island this spring at your place when I pass thru.
