Any difference between 07 & 08 K9's.

One thing the owner of the 08 K9 told me that it's very powerful and will smoke the tire easily. Don't like that!
And that he had the aftermarket speedo put on when he bought because the stock one was hard to see.
Stock parts are gone, not a big fan of the spike air cleaner and not sure about the extended forward controls, 5'9" here.
I did tell him I wanted it just need to find someone to look at it before I make another move.

When you buy a dog you will make it your own. There are so many things you can do. You get it and don't like air cleaner than sell it and get what you want there are many people that have stock parts you can get and put back on. Don't let small things shy you away from a certain bike. Just buy a good dog and start there that's what I did and now I have got things from the supporting businesses on here and started to change a lot of things to my taste. Have fun

I just talked to the owner of the 08 k-9 and he said speedo was changed buy the dealer when it was new and the 117 S&S is completely stock just the carb was adjusted when the new air cleaner was bought. You should go look at it it sounds like it is in great shape from what the owner told me.

if it has extended forward controls on it, you can just take them off and put it back stock. then sell the extensions.

Tire Kicker :job:

Just forget it dude, let someone else have it. At that price with that mileage it will be gone soon.

Alot of these guys on the forum drove 1000+ to pick up a dog they like. If your not willing to do that then its not for you. I bought mine sight unseen 250 miles away. Granted it was from a dealer so I had some reassurance, but drove down and road it back. Never rode a chopper but madden voyage was 250 miles.

Viking

Biker
He will never buy a bike. A decision maker like that either don't have the funds, or is the kind of guy that will never get anywhere cause he can't decide to start going with the right or left foot... Geez, enough already. Get the bike, or any bike, and then get back to us then....

Christ guys THANKS for the support! I told the guy I want the bike and have the cash in hand, contacted 6 different people to ask if they could look at it. Can't do much more at the right now. I am not able to drive the 500 miles to get it, just had an eye operation. I will have it shipped.

I will be that guy. I would not rush on anything and I know you have been looking for awhile. It is important to get a bike that you want instead of settling.
Some of it is just timing that you find the bike that is right for you.

You will know when you have the one you want, granted it didn't take me long the second time I bought a bike but I knew when I saw the damn thing. may not hurt if you find something you like to buy a round trip ticket if you cant ride and go look at it. Then have it shipped.

Badyellowvette, listen that bike has really low miles on it. You're looking for the perfect bike with every single option you want on it...that's not likely to happen. As long as you have a solid base you can build off that. If you don't like the speedo or air cleaner I'll trade you my stock ones I have in a box. I once saw this k9 I thought was absolutely perfect, everything I would want to do to mine. It was like somebody stole my dream from in my head. Plus it only had just broke 2,000 miles. I just had to have it, was gonna fly outta state just to buy it and have it shipped. I had to wait 7 days for my check to arrive from back pay my job owed me for years $30,000 worth of back pay. So I call the dealer and tell him I want that bike and will fly out there at the end of the week to buy it, and if anyone else eyes it seriously before then call me. Well my check arrived and I call the dealer to notify them, and said I'm going to fly our to buy that bike. But they sold it 2 days prior. I was fucked up, that shit really hurt. I looked and looked for the perfect replacement....never found it! So I bought a solid one off a private owner with 4,000 miles. I ended up finding the exhaust I wanted, the oil cooler, etc. Before long my bike had my personal touches I liked, and I'm still upgrading. That 08 k9 u looking at is tits!! All those little uncertainties you're concerned about can be easily changed to your personal liking. Someday u may find your perfect bike(highly unlikely), but you do have the chance to buy an almost new bike now, and those accessories are changeable. The moral is You snooze you lose!! Put your big boy pants on, let the butterflies fly away, and go buy the bike!!

Thank guys, It's not the perfect color I wanted but I can't past this one up. I told the guy I would be there Saturday with cash in hand if it's still there. Hope I can make it there. Have one friend that is into the trip. Trying to find a way to bring it back with me. If I hand him the cash hate to leave the bike to be shipped later. I will still have to wait for the title until he pays it off (scary).

Bank and title is in another state where he financed it through a dealer. Hope I can trust this guy. Says it will take two weeks to get it. He said I could talk to his bank, I will do that this week.

Talk to his bank and send them the payoff and give him the difference than the bank will send you the title.
