Ride it like you stole it
Guys,

Everyone one this site should should be extremely proud to ride a bd today. I trailered ole crispy over to Ohmster this morning 9am. First person to meet me was showdog(scott) He introduced himself and steered me to the back where jason was. Right away he came out to the trailer and we pushed the dog in. Jason was just finishing up another bike. I waited no more then 10 min before he was putting the dog on the lift. He started going through it like a mad man. I left him alone to work his magic. When all said and done Jason went above and beyond any of my expectations. He replaced everything did the fuse update just for insurance, replaced the stator, replaced the speedo and to top it off put a new battery in. Jason did all this within an hour and a half. Next Brad one of the factory reps stepped in took the bike for a little rip came back and checked the charging system. Easy as that. I can't say enough about scott(showdog) I saw him first hand handling issues with other customers with real passion. You can tell scott doesn't have the this is just a job attitude. He is a true asset to Big dog and I hope they know it and read this. I want to say thanks to all and sulconst especially with the great idea of taking the bike over to the factory guys. Today my luck has changed my friends you all should be happy to know bg cares alot about their customers and they did the right thing  up: :2thumbs:

Raywood was just telling me on the phone that you guys down at Daytona were working the reps to death, dawn to dusk!

I hope someone had a chance to buy 'em a beer or two for all the extraordinary customer service they provided.

Great story, superfly!

Superfly,

BTW did they every tell you what caused the issue in the first place and if was the VR that started, was by chance it on of the recall dated ones or a latter.

Once again, good to hear that BD step up and gave the great customer service that they are known for.

Still would be interested in more details in case this may a VR related problem like the 04-05 dated but out of that time frame.

Thanks

the VR was too fried to get numbers, but jason felt sure it was a recalled one. It was the VR that caused it no question.

That is awesome...I do hope the folks at the puppy farm realize that the small investment they make now in keeping us happy and on the road, will pay tremendous dividends down the road as far as the longevity and overall success of the company are concerned. I for one am VERY proud to own a Big Dog, manufactured by a fine AMERICAN company that stands behind it's products and does the right thing for it's customers.

Superfly, glad they took care of you and lots of others. I was the first guy there Friday morning when they started and they took care of me also.

Jason even came to my aid on the day I was to leave Daytona and my bike died in a gas station. He came in his truck with tools, battery and ehc and had me back on the road in an hour. Then I got the flat!

All those guys earn there money and they are the best. As far as I know they didn't charge anybody anything although we may not want to be saying that on here! :D

I also turned hundreds of guys on to this website so hope to see then start logging in when Daytona is done.

Thanks Jason, Scott and Brad and Rick.

Superfly,

Good to hear that it was a recall one more than likely and that the problem with the 04-05 have not found their way to newer ones. Well it is not good to see it happen, but at least they have identified a problem and have got a basic fix to protect. Now we that have not had the recall done, need to get it in soon (that includeds me).

Best part is that BDM has shown themself to give very much about the customer and take the lead. Enjoy the riding, it still is sucking up here with the weather being off and on.
