OK Tomorrow is 70 and Im down, Riding today first time out from the winter. Bike running ok then quit acted as if I were out of fuel. Coasted to station. Thats when the S--t hit the fan.
1, The bike was dead, 2, Pulled the seat, Touched the positive cable and the bike starter engaged, 3, Removed the negitive cable first and was getting sparks. the starter engaged 4, started to remove the pos. cable and the black box above the battery fizzeled out. The bike had no response after that. I had no power anywhere, My thoughts are this is a security "Alarm" of some sort. It's 2 1/2" Long and about 3/2 wth. no markings on the unit however it does have a green and red light on the bottom of the this unit.
My question is anyone know what the starter problem was and do you know anythinhg about this Pos. Alarm is and how I can disconect it if it is. Im shut down from it all. Where would I start tracing. Im Blank other then searching for the short.
Thanks Gary. By the way it's a 2006 BD Chopper. Thanks Again

Ok the Little Black Magic device which no dealer in town will givea name. Reason: They want the bike in their shop to repair. Meaning Money.. This is not rocket building, I removed the device 1 cable to the battery, one wire to the ECH, one to the starter swich, and a ground. Can anyone name this part? I have been building and fixing bikes for years, Im 56 years old for F--K sakes I don't need the warranty work all the shops are balling about the bike is out of warranty I need the part. Asking the dealer to put a name on it is like asking someone the ingredance to make -----? Whatever. Come on guys help an old tired guy out before the parts shop close. Thanks, Bailcolo

its not an alarm. Little black box on top of your battery with two lights, from my understanding its some kinda module that kills the power to the rest of your bike and sends all of your juice to the starter when you crank it for easier start ups.

I'm pretty sure thats what it is. I have no idea what the name for it is though.

So we can help you better, perhaps you could introduce yourself in the Indrroduction area, post a pic of your bike, a pic of the problem issue and pin your location on the map.

Thanks
