Sometimes we need a good as it could be story. Started a trip with a buddy Sunday heading from Dallas to KC. We were making good time going up 35 until just North of Wichita. I was on the Fat Boy and he was on his Vulcan 1600. We still don't know what happened, but he was behind me coming around a truck when he lost it. He somehow rode the wall about 100 yards or more until he hit a drain culvert. That threw him down. First bit of good luck was he went away from the truck. Second bit of good luck was the car right behind him was a State Patrol who is also a rider. All told, the bike is pretty messed up. But out of it all, he only has a a little road rash on his arms and a broken finger. Helmet saved his head. Then out of the goodness of their hearts, my wife and her best friend put everything, including job, aside for the day and drove all the way from Dallas to Emporia, KS with the truck and a second car so they could get the bikes. We have to go on for work, and they took the bikes back to Dallas today. He is sore, but otherwise fine. THANKS TO THE ROAD ANGELS FOR KEEPING THE BAD GREMLINS AWAY
