Just wrapped my new streetglide headers and ran the wrap thru a bucket of water before wrapping. After finishing the wrap and starting the bike, you could see the water running out as the wrap tightened up. I did it to hold down the heat on my leg. The shop that I bought it from said that it is even more effective if you paint the wrap with high temp paint.I got the left one wired up today. Rest of the bike is wired...just the right control at the bar, and the ends to the harness to go.
Word of caution: careful if you use header wrap!!!
I couldn't find my squirt bottle with water in it...so I decided to wrap the 2 into 1 header last night dry. I noticed as I was doing it that glass dust was in the air, but didn't think anything of it. I started hacking about 2am, and haven't felt right all day. Make sure you wet that wrap to keep from inhaling the fiberglass...take my word for it. Plus it comes out better when its wet, it pulls tighter, and forms around the courves better.
You hit it out the park, great Idea! They are fairly small so getting them in chrome wouldn't be highly expensive and really make them standout.Well done JJ! These controls look like a great solution to get rid of the crazy expensive control PCBs and allow the use of better switches and wiring!!!! :2thumbs:

PS Are you seeing this Raywood? Looks like a great new product for Wild Steed Worx...![]()

They were some switches I got for another project and didn't use.....I think they were from CCI or Mid-Usa. I will find out. I remember they weren't cheap.Hey Jesus Joe, where did you pick up the mini push button switches?

Extra resistor will drop the voltage, and is needed for led's survival. The wire harness/fusebox is a leftover part from some BMC Choppers inventory that I got when they went out of business. Everything works great except for the speedo....kinda wondering if something internal with the speedo took the control module out. The indicators and warning lights work, but the display was all over the place, and flashing weird. Maybe I should have dropped the amperage to the head, but I thought it would only pull what it needed. Time for Dakota I guess.
