Is the primary where it is coming from or the baker six speed? Is the primary chain too tight?

I think he's running a Roadmax Trans, would think he needs to adjust his clutch to specs...

1) Check the clutch adjustment.
2) Check for any metal in the fluid when it is drained.
3) Check for bent shift fork or fork rod.
4) Get back to us and let us know what you find.

Bobby,
When I had tranny issues and checked the fork rod and shift forks, I didn't notice any issues. With the curves on the shift forks, how can you tell if they are within spec? Is it obvious when they are bent? Of course the shift rod can be rolled on a flat surface to check, but the forks would take a keen eye or some type of instrument to detect a slight bend. What is your method?

Brad, Easy to check on a road max. The shift forks are pretty soft and usualy will get gouged from the gears. When I have some doubt I check the spacing between the gears as I shift the box by hand to make sure they are all about the same. And for the last resort I have a set of known good parts that I will check parts against. So far I have only seen one Iron horse Texas Chopper that had a set that was barley bent. Most of the ones I get are pretty bad.

Can we catch N easily? No - Warp plates or certain pressure plates need adjusting.

Can we shift faster than what we are doing now? Yes. I need to move the foot more secure into 3rd.

I had my clutch system adjusted. No change. Well now, here is where the center basket is still moving or say a plate is making it spin up = Gear grind.

How can I stop this?
A. Start out in 1st with a dead engine so you do not grind with a running engine.
B. Live with it = Normal if that basket keeps moving with the outer basket.

I get it Sven, but it also grinds going into 3rd. What say you?

When the clutch is pulled in, how far from the bar should it start to engage. Mind is engaging about 3/4 from all the way in.
