Having battery issues with K-9

I had a buddy thats a gm mechanic check it out. He tested it with a multimeter and said there is no draw. Thats what makes no sense. You think it would pick up a little current if it was drawing

I don't understand how or why the EHC would be drawing if the bike is off. There's nothing for it do be doing if the bike is off.

Thats my thoughts too! Ive had sportbikes with clocks and the bike could sit 3 months and fire right up. If i knew what to disconnect on the ehc I do it.

Id rather they made these bikes so you didnt have to put a tender on them all the time. I think its crazy that they draw this power from the bike. Never had another bike do this to me and Ive owned over 30 bikes
these bikes dont require a tender, they just need to be ridden enough to keep the battery charged.anything with a battery will give you problems if it just sits around

I have a TrueGel coming and if that fails me I will surely the Tomioka a shot. Thanks for the heads up.
Gel batteries require a special charger .... dont use a conventional charger it will kill the battery .... Gel battery chargers have a 12 volt max output.

Excellent, thanks man. I'm ordering on of those bad boys. I have an autozone special in now but the CCA's are weak.

I agree with some of what's being said here but yall need to keep in mind that regardless of the type of bike or the conditions the bike is stored in the battery is still going to lose some of its amps per day. I might not be enough to really notice but it's fact that it does.

Claim earlier about the bike having a hard star in the cold is just like any other vehicle. Within time the battery will passivate which will need a load put on it to really wake the battery up so that it can be utilized in its optimum strength.

The cold can do a number to your battery also. Truth is that the bike should be placed on a tender when not being used like anything else.

Like trying to start a car that been sitting there for a lengthy period of time, it'll be a bitch to get it to crank but when jumped it'll fire up and it doesn't mean that the battery is fine and will retain the charge.

Recommendation - If the bike has been sitting for an extensive period of time then the battery needs to be load tested prior to charging. If the battery is passivated then the battery will never hold a charge. Load test - wakes up the cells of the battery therefore making it last a bit longer and will be able to retain a charge.
